Listening to Adam Lambert's cd.
Anyone who dislikes it should be shot in the face.
Haha.....

I'm kidding
Mostly. No but really I had low expectations, which may have something to do with it. Sorry but some other Idol debuts left me feeling a tad empty. (Ex. I find Jordan Spark's music to be exceedingly mindless and formulated despite her talent. Even Cook felt a bit restrained, I'm sorry, I still adore him. Don't get me started on poor Archie's.) This one is 110% Adam. And hot damn is it catchy! Not in a cliche way either. I find every song genuinely interesting, both vocally and instrumentally. There isn't too much repetition, variety while still keeping continuity. Even at its most ridiculous I find the album infectious. The lyrics to "If I Had You" won't get out of my head or stop making me laugh at the wonderful exaggeration, "If I had you, life would be a party, it'd be ecstasyyy". This song and "Music Again" have been stuck in my head since the clips leaked. I've never been more excited for an Idol cd. Maybe insanely curious is more accurate, especially after Adam's big " 'F You" of a performance at the AMA's. (saw it as a response to everyone who assumed he was a "puppet to the idol machine/management" that was trying to make him 'less gay' for the public) in which case, kudos Mr. Lambert.
Maybe I also forgive him for any cheesy (mostly slower) moments because I know it's Adam, and I know he's such a strong individual, so I can't help but feel he always made it his own at the very least.
Favorite Tracks: Music Again, Sure Fire Winners, If I Had You, Fever

But what the actual fuck. Tell me I'm not the only one whose heart broke while reading Adam's "Thank You"s, right after his family:

" To Drake: You have the most inspiring spirit. Thank you for keeping it grounded and real. Thank you for reminding me to make art from the soul and live life to its fullest. Boo...lurv you "

Adam-Dance
Either no one will probably read this or no one else on my flist is involved in the Adam Lambert/Out controversy, but this summed it up for me:
(I love you AfterElton)

"....That being said, I'm pretty disappointed in how much of the gay media is covering all of this. Adam's first album comes out shortly and to be attacking one of the most famous gay musicians in the world right now over how gay he is in the press, doesn't seem like it's going to do much for the gay community in any respect.
..

And it's not as if Adam has been a closet case refusing to discuss his sexuality as the Out interview makes quite clear. So why the animosity from some quarters? Only they know for certain.
..

And I find Hicklin's backstabbing of Lambert to be especially dismaying — and either slightly disingenuous or uniformed. After all, Lambert did do the Out cover and gave an interview that by all accounts is remarkably refreshing and candid.
To include an Editor's Letter criticizing him in the same issue not only seems akin to inviting someone to dinner and hitting them in the face with a cream pie at the end,
but frankly, also seems suspicious. "

YES.
The motherfucking letter was addressed to Adam. That's a personal attack. And I cant get over how they handled this, even though I agree that 19E sucks.
(If anyone is interested, I would be more than happy to summarize)

My Stupid Mouth

My crappy nostalgic icon is rather appropriate. I think fall of all the seasons definitely makes me the most nostalgic. Around here autumn doesn't last very long so I have very specific memories tied into it. The state fair for example.
I had an amazing kick off to October

Alexisonfire is involved in Fucked Up. (Seriously?? But wait, it gets better.)

And

Norma Jeans' old singer is in The Chariot.

All things good are connected. And holla at Norma Jean for being not only from Georgia but from a city obscenely close to mine. It's beautiful.

I'm going to sidestep the whole Kayne and Taylor Swift thing entirely. But, definitely unfortunate.

I just want to say, I didn't think it was physically possible for me to love Beyonce any more than I already did. The VMA's proved me wrong. (even though I kind of wished she had performed Beautiful Nightmare, cause she would have tore it up)

Also, Green Day did an phenomenal job. Excellent but unexpected song choice!

I love Placebo's new video.
-Ok that could be multiple things talking, especially since I'm still amped on multiple tom/mark blink vids, and I just love this song.
Perfect choice for a single.

The fact that it was so over the top made the cheesy-psychadelic thing ok. If it had been any less it could have looked awful. That kind of thing needs to be full force. I like that Brian resembled his Nancy Boy days in a view shots there.
I still wanna do steve forrest, hard, like shoved into a deserted alleyway.
I'm not sure if any other human being has been more slash-able.

That digressed quickly.
I did have a sort of revelation though. It's my opinion that if a friend describes a guy as hot, you should steer clear. That usually means they're incredibly attractive and worst of all they know it. There's nothing more dangerous or douchebaggy than that friends.
Now if they describe him as cute or adorable, there's a much better chance of their ego being of a normal size and them actually being nice/genuinely friendly. Not get-in-your-pants friendly.
